For those who train with Hawley, they know that one of her strongest attributes is her ability to instill confidence in her students through her cheery, positive attitude.  Hawley knows it takes a tremendous amount of hard work, patience, and focus to move forward in this sport.  She understands the highs and lows of training and competition, yet she still embraces every day that she goes to the barn because she loves riding, competing, and teaching.  This enthusiasm for the sport, her horses and her clients is what has carried her to success in this business.

Hawley reinforces with her students the importance of basic flat work, which is key to having a ride-able horse over fences.  Schooling the technical skills needed to jump every question, is first mastered at home.  Getting the practical experience needed while schooling, at clinics and at shows gives her horses and students the confidence to be ready for their appropriate level of competition in the sport of eventing.

Hawley’s students are constantly challenged during the learning process, to produce a horse that is capable, willing and comfortable in his job.  Hawley’s focus is on developing an appropriate partnership so her students are safely able to compete and move up through the levels.

Now fully established as one of the top upper-level riders and trainers in Southern California, Hawley is fostering a whole new community of young and young-at-heart eventers. No matter their backgrounds or goals, Hawley is committed to giving other hard-working riders like herself a proverbial leg up!
